This may come as a surprise to you all but according to my husband, Nathan, I have a lot of weird quirks that are not shared by the majority of the human race. Nathan's always telling me that part of the reason he loves me so much is because of my "weirdness." I never thought of myself as unusual until I met my husband. I figured most people shared my views/interesting habits/opinions but...filed under: surprise

This cactus gave us a wonderful 4th of July surprise. These gorgeous flowers greeted us when we went out in the yard in the morning. Each bloom had a tiny white flower in the center. It was like having our own tiny fireworks in the back yard. What a Happy Birthday America treat! I'm looking forward to the 4th of July next year....filed under: surprise

I heard today that I have been awarded a scholarship from the Executive Women of New Jersey! I honestly didn't expect to win this one, but it's a huge honor to win this state-wide (never mind that it's not my state!) competition. 2 pieces of good school-news in the last 2 weeks- it's nice to have that sort of momentum. Now, if I could only finish my last term paper before the fall term starts...

Just the other day it was suggested, no more like requested, that we get a bottle of Pinot Gris. Well, I searched the wine racks of our local store and found a nice bottle of Eola Hills Pinot Gris 2007. Much to my surprise and pleasure this Pinot Gris was superb. I am very much a fan of Pinot Noir, but I will tell you I was very impressed with this bottle of Pinot Gris from Eola Hills Winery in...

By now, you've heard the news about Thursday's SURPRISE! Scrimmage. There were 4 plays over 60 yards--none of them involving Sammie Stroughter. Stolen via www.osubeavers.com It's never good when the offense is ahead of the defense in fall camp, or is it? As Bob Clark said: "The obvious conclusion off this show of the offense is the Beavers are a threat from anywhere on the field,...

I'm off to pick peaches. Don't tell my wife because I may have in the past picked fruit and then not followed through with my plans to preserve them. I will today though and it will be a big surprise. Unfortunately it's going to be upwards of 150 degrees today which is a hot day for preserving peaches. Thank you to all of you who commented and shared your own fears, ideas, stories about Weight on...

So I was surfing around on YouTube and much to my surprise, I came across a video featuring none other than my son and father-in-law. The video is espousing all the fun one can have with YouTube, and would actually make a great advertisement for them. All the clips used were just randomly selected YouTube clips. With over 83.4 million videos hosted on Youtube, kind of funny one of mine got...posted on brianeberly.com in Sherwood - 7:43 PM

Many yoga poses are named after cats and dogs....so it's not a surprise that my dog thinks some poses are an invite for him to play with me. But he weighs almost as much as I do and he's a leaner - so I have worked hard to teach him to be quiet and watch as I do yoga... This "training" usually works in the summer as outside is much more entertaining than watching me - he has the neighbors...posted on grow older better in Portland - 6:30 PM
