First of all, I'm ready to call The End of The Real Estate Crash: March 2010. A few things: First, it will inevitably happen several months later, so The Real End will be Oct 2010. But again, later, so March 2011. A few months after that. Why? Well, first of all, besides the fact that I AM ALWAYS EARLY, AND from Case-Schiller data & anecdotal observation, RE seems to move in big... With growth low and inflation high, John McCain comes out with 44 percent in November. (Before Obama-ites go making reservations for t...Saturday, June 28th
"Grit" is the new "Gravitas". It is a word being bandied about by politicos and pundits all at once that was not particularly used before. I remember in 2000 when everyone started using the word "gravitas" — a description of what George W Bush needed in a vice presidency and then a description of Dick Cheney. Where did that word come from? Was it in deep storage until it was plucked...Hampshire" where the two candidates received an equal contrived number of votes, praised Barack Obama for his grit. This was after Bar...

According to a June 23 Survey USA poll of Oregon voters, Barack Obama has a 3 point lead over John McCain (48% to 45%) for President, down from many of the recent Oregon polls giving Obama a much greater lead and out of synch with Washington State polling. Anti-taxation whiner Grover Norquist called Barack Obama "John Kerry with a tan", and I gather that strikes some as racist. I'm not sure it's racist. It's true that he felt it necessary to call out Obama's skin color; he might have declared Obama "John Kerry with a better speech" or "John Kerry four years later," but he didn't. He didn't impute shortcomings to Obama based on his skin...filed under: barack obama, obama

I posted back in April on the fact that, in essence, James Dobson does not speak for me when it comes to my focus on my family (this was just before I moved my bridgeout blog from Blogger to WordPress, so I will copy that post below). I stumbled across a website that is actually titled: "James Dobson Doesn't Speak for Me." Although that site was set into motion by Dobson's comments against Senator...Obama, the points made can translate across the board to a variety of reasons why I have believed...

I know some readers of this blog tire of my fawning over Obama. And I get it. So, I tried all week to ignore this story, but um, my beautiful black hero is calling out one of our whack-job Evangelical Leaders. And I can't resist. So bear with me. Recently, in a speech on Christianity, Obama had this to say: "And even if we did have only Christians in our midst, if we expelled every non-Christian...
One of the things that makes me sure I will vote for Obama rather than anyone else is his attitude toward the "accomplishments" of the Bush administration. He plans to review all Bush's executive orders and remove any that he thinks are unconstitutional. I hope this will mean that the first thing *Bush* did in office -- removing funding to family planning clinics overseas and here that also...

UPDATE: Democrats liked this news piece on Obama so much I thought I'd give them a second look at it. CNN's Jeannie Moos reporting on Seal-gate: Now you can go HERE and vote on whether or not you...

Democracy Dupe: Zimbabwe holds one-man election as the opposition candidate fears for his life. Axis to Allies: North Korea accepted atomic inspection yesterday and so, in a very North Korea way to symbolically step toward peace, the leaders then blew something up. Supreme Synonyms: Yesterday's Supreme Court overruling of gun control differentiates between "guns" and "dangerous and unusual... Cozy Candidates: Clinton and Obama are BFFs now. Space 'sparagus: Mars is apparently made of "the type of soil you'd probably...
