As I expected, I got a call from my doctor's office today about my shoulder MRI Arthrogram from last Friday. The story as it stands now is a torn labrum, which is really no surprise to me. I go in to see an Orthopedist at the end of the month to further discuss the MRI results and the inevitable surgical procedure. Given the history and the mechanism of injury, it's most likely a Bankart lesion....

Last Friday marked the first time I ever spent the night in a hospital. Fortunately, I was able to walk in under my own power. As I approached Admissions, the staffer immediately said "Sleep Study?" She said it was pretty easy to recognize folks coming in to the sleep clinic, as they were carrying an overnight bag and usually their own pillow. I would also bet that virtually all of them are...

Wooden Boat Repair: Fixing GougesI slammed some bedrock hard last Friday drifting the town-run Willamette underneath the I-5 Bridge. I figured the water level had covered all the ledges in my line. . . it hadn't. At the takeout I realized some damage had been done to the batten that would require some repair-this is the worst I've sustained in four years of running this boat. I don't think this is the only way to address this...

Last Friday, C and I took the day off of work to celebrate my birthday. We "dragged" her co-worker Doug out to play some disc golf. Doug brought along his camera and made this video: Nice day OK, but NOT the PDGA. from Doug O on Vimeo. For those who don't know, the Dexter course is merciless....

At DailyKos yesterday, Jeff Merkley spoke out about the FISA bill in the U.S. Senate today. His post, in full: Last Friday, the House of Representatives passed the FISA Amendments Act of 2008. It was the wrong move and I urge Congress and the President to reverse course. The bill will force federal district courts to immediately dismiss any cases against telecommunications companies that...

I attend Terry Peterson's level 3 class last Friday. His quality of teaching is immaculate and he engages you in the best possible way and you don't feel intimidated - especially being the most inexperienced level 3 yogi in class with the least flexibility. Given the tightness of my hamstrings and quads, it is not possible to for me to perform a perfect Supta Virasana. This is a pose that I am...

Last Friday, a group of us from the OSO went up to Seattle to hear a matinee performance of the Seattle Symphony. It was a group of management, staff, and musicians who made the trek. It was quite the interesting experience. Primarily, I'd like to provide my basic impressions of the experience as someone who's...

Last Friday, my team had an all-day, off-site meeting at McMenamin's Edgefield, a large estate east of Portland (in Troutdale) that is home to a variety of different sources of entertainment: a hotel, a spa and soaking pool, a number of hotel-like places to sleep, a couple of restaurants... I could go on. It is a lovely place and on Friday the sun shone brightly and it was warm and beautiful out....
