First, Moby's "At Least We Tried": Second, Bad Religion's "Honest Goodbye": Finally, Bob Marley's "Satisfy My Soul": I love random music because it's a hotbed of apophenia....

Google Goes Multi-Modal with Voice Powered Search on MobilesA friend of mine, Surj Patel, told a while back me he thinks the next big thing in mobile application interfaces will be multi-modal input. Storm ApproachingStorm Approaching, originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl. Continued weekend recap... We hung out at the house most of the late afternoon on Sunday. Just the four of us relaxing and trying to stay cool. Originally we'd planned on firing up the fire pit and roasting some stuff for dinner, but then... weather change. The clouds started to roll in, the thunder could be heard in the distance,...viewing of some of the Olympic swimming trials. A very nice dinner. This photo was taken with my iPhone camera just after we crossed...

AT&T today announced its pricing structure for the next iteration of Apple's iPhone — which you can plunk down money for come 8 am, July 11th. There's not much that's surprising here — new customers and those eligible for an upgrade will be able to nab the phone for $199 (8GB) or $299 (16GB), while "early upgraders" will have to fork over $399 or $499, all with a two year contract...

MuniFi Rebound in AkronMunicipal WiFi systems in the US have been pretty much failures across the board, notes Engadet. But the good people of Akron, Ohio are apparently in for another go-round — the city's just commited some $800,000 to build out a free wireless network over the next five years. The service will be installed and operated by a nonprofit called OneCommunity, which just received a $4.5M...
