We've got a new voice 'round here, mamas. Meet Sharon, fellow Stumptown Activista and resident there-is-not-nearly-enough -workplace-flexibility-in- this-country expert. From her pen (ok, keyboard): It probably comes as no big surprise that a recent report on workplace flexibility in 21 high-income countries, our home sweet country lags behind all the rest. Most of us know from...filed under: fellow

Dave Marlow blogs: Fellow blogger Renegade Eye put it best: "I don't believe the Green Party is the alternative party formation, since it lacks a program and class basis." The Green Party is incapable of leading a successful workers revolution, at least in its current manifestation, because of its inherent ties to reformism and its separation from class struggle. They are not a genuine proletarian...

Oh yeah, mamas, oh yeah. Moms Rising e-mailed us about this excellent speech, as did fellow Activista Angie. Did you hear what Senator Obama said? Goosebumps. It's been s-o-o-o long, mamas, since a powerful politician has said it so strong, so publicly. A few of his excellent statements: As the son, grandson and husband of hard-working mothers, I don't accept an America that makes women...

About a year ago, I met an elderly fellow who seems to really love life and has a lot of what a lot of people don't have - ingenuity. He has a unique ability to make something out of nothing. He writes poetry that the common man can make sense of. He grows plants just to give them away to people for free and meets a lot of new people that way. He is tenacious in everything he does. He is self-made....

I would like to welcome Mike Brindley, a co-worker and fellow food-lover. He let me try some of this angel food cake and I have to say it was quite fluffy and delicious! I hope you enjoy it! — Keith I've always loved angel food cake; so light and airy. Years ago, I made it from a boxed mix, like my Mom did. Recently, I've seen some TV chefs make angel food from scratch and they...filed under: fellow
Logging into Facebook I was assaulted presented with an advertisement featuring a picture of an incredibly fit fellow's chiseled abdomen with the caption "48 YR OLD Overweight?".... I suppose I should be thankful this was not a picture of a shirtless Mark Zuckerberg, but .. I'm 48 so I can't believe this was a coincidence - obviously Facebook is using my personal information to target ads to...

It's Sovereign Grace Ministry month here at City Business, so here is another blog from someone who left her church. What's especially great about this blog, is the beautiful young lady includes the different email exhanges she had with her pastors during the time she thought about leaving. Here's the email she received after she finally convinced the pastor she was leaving: I suspect that the...

For years, Gordon Smith has been working overtime to convince Democrats that he's a nice, moderate, well-meaning fellow. And as you know, that's wildly at odds with the facts - as he's a reliable conservative vote in the U.S. Senate. Even Jeff Mapes fell for it last week. As Jack Bogdanski noted: They must offer raises at The Oregonian for anyone who can help beat to death the "Gordon Smith...
