Strange weather here in Oregon's Willamette Valley. We had a nice mid-August hot spell, which is to be expected, but ever since, it's looked very much like autumn: rain, wind, and clouds. Coupled with our late spring, this is wreaking havoc on our tomatoes, as Saturday's garden update will reveal. But we're still harvesting blackberries! The mind boggles. Clouds now smearing out into a lumpy pancake. Dust motes of rain floating everywhere.

Weather report Minuscule blue sky noted over Costco. Clouds seem beefier than usual. Also seem to have a combed-over look to them.

Sitting here in the dim morning light, the clouds have come in, and the temperature has dropped to near bearable levels. I'm upstairs keeping the elderly dogs company and a flash of light illuminates the room. It's followed shortly by a brief ka-boom and the roll and crash of cymbal-like thunder.
