A few minutes ago President Bush announced that Donald Rumsfeld has "decided" to resign. Interesting that this is how the GOP has decided to spin it. This morning Rumsfeld had made it clear the democrats wouldn't be able to get rid of him that easily. Back in April he even said that he has no plans to step down and "whether he should remain as secretary of defense is up to President Bush." So...
It's such a better feeling today, than 2 years ago! I guess Karl Rove's math wasn't quite right after all. I must say I'm excited, but I have to mention the one thing I'm really disappointed in this year. The people of Eugene / Springfield chose not to pass Measure 20-120 which would have given money to Lane Community College. This is heartbreaking. Don't these people know the cuts that LCC...
