After seeing all of the amazing containers at the NorthWest Nursery Trade Show, I had a zillion ideas for plant and pot combinations...I suggested planting hydrangeas in the blue containers (probably better if it is the larger pot) shown below... Absolutely amazing...I have never seen anything like the FarWest Nursery and Greenhouse Industry Trade Show...The Oregon Convention Center was packed with exhibitors with amazing displays. Easy to find all kinds of wholesale goodies from plants to hardscape materials, books to tractors. Here's one of the displays the Oregon Association of Nurseries dropped in to spiff up the place... And her...Hi Garden Buddies! I am the new Home and Garden Channel Editor for Blissfully Domestic and I am in need of gardening contributors! Although there are no monetary benefits, it is a great way to build traffic for your blog and increase your google ratings...it isn't a huge time commitment as you can post as little or as much as you like. Summer squash is one of those veggies that I always over plant. I don't know why I do...I mean, it has to be the easiest thing to grow...put the seed in the ground, water, voila! Suddenly, there are vines and squash everywhere. I suppose I grow more squash to make up for the trauma of growing tomatoes... This is a wonderful pic of the most recent squash harvest...plus, the 7 tomatoes I have...
It is the middle of August...and I have green tomatoes. Not just one or two, but LOTS of green tomatoes. See how pretty and green they are? The reality is that tomatoes need warmth to ripen. You can have 20 sunny days in a row, but if it is not warm enough, no tomatoes...then again, if it is too warm, the blossoms will drop off without forming fruit...again, no tomatoes. Dragon Langerie, or Dragon Tongue, snap beans are an absolutely gorgeous heirloom bean. Just take a look at some that I harvested today...intermingling with purple snap beans.
