With the birth of my niece and the lovely weather of summer, I feel very renewed, alive, and creative. After yesterday's outing to the farmer's market, I felt so blessed to have such beautiful food that I busted out the camera....

I was cycling home from class last night. I turned the corner and found myself riding behind an older man on his bicycle playing Indian sitar music from a ghettoblaster. The smell of curry emanated from him. He turned back and smiled at me and I got a sense of what those Piped Piper fairy tale kids must've felt when they were enticed from their homes and families. India is calling my name...

I am very pleased to announce the birth of my first niece, Gabriella. She was born on Thursday, July 3 to my brother Ryan and his wife, Simone. They were in Toronto for Simone's sister's wedding and Gabriella decided it was time to make an appearance. She was 6 weeks early and slightly small at 5lbs, but she's doing well. I can't wait to meet her in September!...
