Loons and ParksThe Upper Michigan site has photos of birds and their bird mothers today. So I borrowed again today. I like loons and their calls. What an interesting bird. Some people mistake a loon for a duck. Way different. Once you hear a loon you too will become a fan. This first photo is of a mother loon and her little one. The second photo is of the loon carvings that live in my home. I took that...

Gasoline is 20 CentsHow about this from when gasoline was 20 cents? I can remember when Gas was still 36 cents in the mid 1960's.. It actually wasn't too long ago when gasoline was around $1.50 per gallon if you remember? That was just about the time when George Bush took over our fine nation. George Bush and his administration have been doing their best to ruin my country during their eight years in...

I wish Da Vinci Days would plow up and re-plant that field where the majority of events are held at lower campus. It needs to be smoothed out and repaired. It could be repaired in a couple of weeks during our long wet winter time. That field is too rough for wheelchair people to access. It is like a plowed farm field and has been just the same way for all these twenty years that the festival...

2008 Dodge ChallengerI posted this Dodge Challenger a few days ago along with the 1938 Plymouth photo that was my father's first car. That posting gave short attention to this deserving Dodge. This car was on the corner at Wilson Motors here in Corvallis for one week. Just this one and no more. This is a limited production car this year and we don't usually see this kind of thing in this little town. I called...

Da Vinci? The annual festival begins tomorrow and runs through the weekend. I sure hope it stays somewhat temperate and does not get hot. Da Vinci remains Corvallis best festival, but I don't think I like it quite as much as I used to like it. When I first came here in 1990 the festival was much more community oriented and more of a volunteer run type thing. At least that is how I...

Today is continuing story from yesterday and days ago. John's father sold me that old Ford for $5 back in 1965 so I could travel back home once in a while from Marquette. The largest city in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Marquette has a University and much of the government type places that are needed in every state. Most of that stuff is in Lansing or Detroit but those places are very far away...
