There's a question I've been thinking about that I'd love to get your opinion on: If an event has a suggested entrance donation of $X, do you consider it to be a free event? A recent example is Sand in the City, which had a suggested entrance donation of $3 per person or $10 per family. Do you consider an event like Sand in the City to be a free event? The reason, I was told, was practical. Public restrooms did not provide hand towels or dryers. So for my new adventure, I bought a few handkerchiefs. Id never owned one before. Almost 15 years later, I still...

Today I spent the afternoon with my friend and her little girl at the Animal Planet Expo. The free event continues tomorrow (July 13) at Fernhill Park, and I recommend checking it out, especially if you have kids. I snapped a few photos to give you an idea of what to expect. Even though Fernhill Park is a big place, the expo was easy to spot: We got there just in time for one of the Frisbee dog...This is the kind of weekend where I wish I could clone myself. There are so many events I want to go to. See if you agree. Also, be sure to check out Concert Co-op for free concerts in addition to the ones I've listed here. As always, admission is free for all events below. Have a great weekend! All weekend (July 1113) The play "Willy Wonka" will be performed live at Washington Park...
